The Tree Goats of Morocco

In today's post we will review one of the most talked about - and cutest excursions you can do while in Marrakech (or nearby). Of course, we are talking about 'Seeing Tree Goats'. Morocco is famous for Argan oil, which comes from the Argan tree (Argania), which is in Argan Country - 2 hours drive from Marrakech to Essaouira, along the main N8 route. There you will find the tree goats.

These goats love Argan trees for their fruits, and have even been traditionally used in the Argan oil making process. The Berber people would wait for the goat to eat the fruit and excrete the nut that contained the oil.


This is one of the funnies natural phenomena you will see. It will well worth the trip. Some people say they are put in the tress as a local attraction, while others say they naturally go on the tress, why not come and see for yourself?
